Press Release – Veterans Residential Treatment

Evidence-Based Mental Health
and Substance Use Treatment

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WestBridge, Inc. Provides Veterans Residential Treatment in VA CCN Region I through Optum

Manchester, NH – WestBridge, Inc.

WestBridge is pleased to provide residential treatment to Veterans in the Community Care Network (CCN Region I) through a contract with Optum. As one of the few treatment programs providing multiple simultaneous evidence-based interventions with fidelity to original treatment models, WestBridge excels in helping men with co-occurring disorders who have not been able to obtain long-term recovery after prior treatment. In reflecting on the significance of this announcement, WestBridge Medical Director, Delia Hendrick, MD said, “Our integrated care model concomitantly addressing mental health and substance use, with awareness to physical health and general well-being will be beneficial to Veterans with complex needs.”

Our participants are commonly diagnosed with Thought and Mood Disorders co-occurring with Polysubstance Use Disorder or Cannabis Use Disorder. Most have previously experienced multiple hospitalizations and treatment episodes, employment disruption, family distress, and legal involvement. Our study: Outcomes of a Residential and Community-Based Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment Program, published in the International Journal of Mental Health and Addiction, demonstrates the effectiveness of WestBridge’s model.

“Families from across the nation turn to WestBridge for specialized treatment, fidelity to evidence-based practices, and their faith in our independently verified, professionally published outcomes.  The Optum contract reflects our emphasis on enhancing accessibility to our effective long-term treatment. We are honored to help our Veterans in need,” stated Steven Berry, MBA, CEO.

VA CCN Region I consists of Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Vermont, and Virginia. “The new Community Care Network (CCN) is based on feedback from Veterans and other stakeholders. We are confident it will greatly improve care coordination for Veterans and timeliness of payments to community providers,” said former VA Secretary, Robert L. Wilkie.

WestBridge is a CARF accredited non-profit organization, founded in 2001, dedicated to supporting the long-term recovery of adult men and their families that experience co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. WestBridge provides both residential treatment and community-based outpatient treatment using evidence-based practices that have been proven to work. The integrated treatment model addresses both disorders concurrently, in the same setting, by the same team. WestBridge also embraces families throughout the process, helping them to learn, communicate and become trusting partners in recovery.
